Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1 cups chana dal


  • 1 cups cooking oil


  • 1 piece ginger


  • 10 nos shallots


  • 1 tbsp salt


  • 3 nos dry red chilies


  • 1 sprig curry leaves

Directions

  • Soak dal in water for 2hr to drain
  • Chop chillies, shallots, ginger and curry leaves
  • Grind dal to a coarse paste without add water ( not grind it to smooth paste)
  • Add chopped ingredients into it
  • Add salt and mix well
  • Wet your hand and make equal size balls with the mixture
  • Make balls as round shape by press it
  • Pour enough oil into a deep bottom pan and heat it
  • When the oil is hot reduce flame to medium
  • Deep fry the vadas by turning both sides till golden brown color
  • Serve it
